Chicago Journal Letters, June 20, 2007

I am writing on behalf of the Central Committees of the Ukranian Village Draught Beer Preservation Society and the Logan Square Draught Beer Preservation Society.

I would like to start off by saying that our Societies have been very pleased with the high quality of your publication, the Chicago Journal. Neighborhood draught drinkers look forward to picking up the Journal each week at local taverns and perusing the in-depth local coverage, the well-crafted prose of your reporters, and the thoughtful editorials offered within your pages.

Local Draught Beer Society Founder Conducts Great Survey of America's Taverns By Bicycle

John Greenfield, friend of draught beer and founder of the Ukrainian Village Draught Beer Society, is currently drinking, err I mean, riding his way across America. He writes...

"I am currently riding my bicycle from Oregon to Virginia,

stopping at taverns along the way as often as possible."

He will be keeping a log of his travels at barsacrossamerica.blogspot.com .

Good luck, and Godspeed, John!

More on Bell's...

Things are still looking grim for the future of Bell's in Chicago.

One of our members has drafted this response, addressed to Governor Blagojevich. Please use this letter as a template or send your own letter to the Governor today urging him to SAVE BELL'S IN ILLINOIS! Together we can SAVE BELL'S, but it will take hundreds and thousands of Illinois draught drinkers, speaking united as one voice, to make a difference. The draught drinkers, united, will never be defeated!

Save Bell's in Chicago!
